The Project

IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild is an outdoor live music concert series where traditional concert halls and venues give way to forests, fields, deserts, and riverbank vistas. Instruments and singers are fitted with microphones that transmit music instantly to wireless headphones assigned to guests at check-in. The headphones give the audience freedom to wander through secret glens, lie in sunny meadows, and roam old growth forests, providing a soundtrack to each person’s outdoor odyssey.

The mission of IN A LANDSCAPE is to connect people to place through music. Concerts attract both classical music patrons and outdoor enthusiasts, however, the target audience is residents of each local community. Classical pianist Hunter Noack features local musical guests wherever possible and occasionally collaborates across the arts to create site specific dance, theater, and visual art.
